The safari concludes with a visit to the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s most unique wildlife environments, before a relaxed return to Arusha.

DETAILED ITINERARY

Arrival Day: Welcome to Tanzania

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your private safari guide and transferred to your accommodation in Arusha.

Take time to relax and recover from your journey. Your guide will provide a short briefing about your upcoming safari experience.

We recommend arriving at least one day before the safari begins to ensure a smooth start. Your safari adventure will begin the following day.

Day 1: Tarangire National Park – Elephant & Baobab Landscapes

After breakfast, depart from Arusha and journey to Tarangire, one of Tanzania’s most scenic and wildlife-rich parks.

Known for its large elephant herds and iconic baobab trees, Tarangire offers a classic savannah safari experience. Wildlife tends to gather along the Tarangire River, providing excellent opportunities to spot elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and predators such as lions.

Enjoy a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch set in the heart of the park before continuing to your lodge or tented camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Journey to Serengeti National Park – Entering the Great Plains

After an early breakfast, begin your journey toward Serengeti National Park, traveling through the scenic Ngorongoro Highlands.

As the landscape opens into vast plains, you will enter the Serengeti ecosystem—home to one of the greatest wildlife concentrations on Earth. Enjoy a game drive en route to your camp, with opportunities to spot large herds of grazers and predators.

Arrive in the afternoon and continue with a relaxed game drive before settling in for the evening.

Day 3: Serengeti National Park – Full-Day Game Viewing

Spend a full day exploring the central Serengeti, where open plains and scattered kopjes create ideal conditions for wildlife viewing.

With your guide, track wildlife movement throughout the day, including lions, cheetahs, elephants, and large herds of wildebeest and zebras. The Serengeti’s ever-changing environment means each game drive offers new sightings and unique moments. Break for a picnic lunch in the bush before continuing your exploration. Return to camp in the late afternoon for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Serengeti National Park – Extended Exploration

Another full day in the Serengeti allows for deeper exploration and a more immersive safari experience.

Your guide may take you to different areas of the park to follow wildlife activity, increasing your chances of witnessing predator interactions or seasonal movements such as the Great Migration (depending on timing).

Optional Experience:

Hot air balloon safari at sunrise over the Serengeti, followed by a bush breakfast (additional cost)

Day 5: Serengeti → Ngorongoro Highlands

Enjoy an early morning game drive, often one of the best times to see predators active before the heat of the day.

After breakfast, begin your journey out of the Serengeti, with wildlife viewing along the way as you travel toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Arrive at your lodge on or near the crater rim in the afternoon. The cooler highland climate and sweeping views provide a peaceful contrast to the plains below.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater – Big Five Experience

Descend into the Crater for a half-day game drive in one of Africa’s most unique wildlife environments.

The crater floor is home to a dense concentration of animals, offering excellent opportunities to spot lions, elephants, buffalo, hippos, and possibly the endangered black rhino.

Enjoy a picnic lunch near a hippo pool before ascending the crater and returning to your lodge.

Day 7: Karatu / Lake Manyara – Relaxed Exploration

After several days of intensive game viewing, today offers a more relaxed pace.

This flexible day allows you to unwind while still experiencing the natural beauty and cultural atmosphere of the region.

Day 8: Return to Arusha

After breakfast, begin your journey back to Arusha, arriving in the early afternoon.
